Gossamer Wave wig by Inspired Collection is a long layered, wavy synthetic ladies wig and features soft flowing waves from crown to nape with a natural middle parting.

Why You'll Love It

Gossamer Wave is a long layered, wavy style that hits the sweet spot in length with the longest layers at the sides reaching 32cm, but not so long that it becomes impractical to wear or style every day. The waves fall naturally from crown to nape and hold their shape between washes without any effort, making Gossamer Wave genuinely low-maintenance for a longer style.

The middle monofilament parting creates a realistic scalp-like appearance at the parting area - the hair appears to grow directly from the centre of the head rather than from a flat wefted base. The lace front sits flat against the forehead with no visible edge, giving a completely natural hairline across the full front of the style. Together the monofilament middle part and lace front deliver the most natural-looking result this construction can achieve.

Hair Type

Gossamer Wave is made from synthetic fibre. Synthetic wigs hold their style in all weather without the upkeep that human hair requires - no blow drying, no restyling after washing. The fibre maintains its colour and shape wash after wash.

Gossamer Wave is heat-friendly and styling tools such as straighteners, curling irons and blow dryers can be used (up to 140C).

Wig Cap Construction

Gossamer Wave uses a Comfort Cap base - Inspired Collection's lightweight wefted construction with a middle monofilament parting and lace front. The wefted sides and back allow air to circulate freely against the scalp throughout the day, keeping the cap cool and breathable - particularly important for a longer, fuller style where heat can build more easily than in a short wig.

The middle monofilament parting means the hair at the centre parting area is individually knotted to a sheer mesh base, creating a scalp-like appearance at the part. This is a centre parting only - the parting is fixed in the middle rather than being fully moveable.

The lace front reaches from ear tab to ear tab and sits flat against the forehead with no visible edge. Velvet-lined ear tabs, ultra-thin nape adjusters and stretch material throughout the cap base provide a comfortable, secure fit within the average cap range of 54cm–57cm.

Your questions

When first receiving your wig in the post, it's normal to feel a little
overwhelmed. Wearing a wig maybe something completely new to you,
however, there's no need to worry. At Joseph’s Wigs, we completely
understand your confusion and love to help wig wearers feel at ease with
the whole process, no matter what stage of the journey you're at.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to put on a wig and watch the video demonstration.

Washing a wig plays a key role in wig maintenance
to ensure long-lasting quality and to maintain its initial shine. Using
a wig washing kit, shampoo and condition the wig thoroughly, rinse the
wig with clean water after each step. Then, once cleaned, place the wig
onto a styling head (which you can anchor down using a suction wig clamp
holder) and begin brushing the wig gently from the ends of the hair to
the crown. Finally, leave the wig to dry and it’ll begin to adopt its
natural style again.

For more detailed explanations, read our guides on how to wash your wigs:

How to wash a human hair wig
How to wash a synthetic wig

The price of a wig can range anywhere between £65.00 - £3,000.00,
depending on whether you choose to buy a human hair wig or synthetic
wig. If you're looking for a longer-lasting wig solution, ideal for
medical reasons, then we would suggest investing in a human hair wig for
the most natural and comfortable look possible. However, if you're
looking for a temporary wig to try new styles, for example, then opt for
a synthetic wig that's lower in cost.

Choosing the right wig size for you will depend on your head
circumference. This can be determined by measuring your head for a wig
correctly using a flexible measuring tape. Read our page on how to measure your head for a wig and watch our video demonstration.

Synthetic wigs are made with fibre strands to simulate the natural
appearance of human hair. Although synthetic wigs are man-made, advanced
technology means they're created almost parallel to the quality of real
hair.

Human hair wigs are crafted from harvested human hair
which means the wigs feel, look and move just like a natural head of
hair.
