Tess Petite wig by Jon Renau is a short, light density pixie ladies wig. This classic style is ready-to-wear style and features soft side-swept fringe and clean layered cut with a tapered neckline.

Why You'll Love It

Tess Petite is a classic light density pixie in a petite cap - the same silhouette as Tess in an average cap, sized specifically for a smaller head circumference of 51cm–54cm. The light density means the hair sits and moves naturally rather than appearing overly full or thick, which is what gives this style its realistic, understated quality.

The soft side-swept fringe at 3" – 3.5" frames the face gently and can be worn across or tucked behind the ear depending on your preference. The tapered nape at 1.75" and clean sides keep the silhouette polished from every angle.

At just 2oz Tess Petite is one of the lightest styles in the Jon Renau range - a meaningful practical difference for anyone who wears a wig every day. The SmartLace temple-to-temple lace front creates a natural-looking hairline across the full front of the style, and the monofilament top allows the parting to be moved for natural dimension at the crown.

Because the fibre is standard synthetic it holds its style between washes without any effort - no restyling, no heat tools needed. Tess is also available in an average cap for those with a standard head circumference of 54cm–57cm.

Hair Type

Tess Petite is made from synthetic fibre. Synthetic wigs hold their style in all weather without the upkeep that human hair requires - no blow drying, no restyling after washing. The fibre maintains its colour and shape wash after wash.

Please note Tess Petite is not heat-friendly. Styling tools such as straighteners, curling irons and blow dryers should not be used on this wig as they will permanently damage the fibre. The style returns to its original shape naturally after washing and drying on a wig stand.

Wig Cap Construction

Tess Petite uses Jon Renau's SmartLace cap -  a wefted back with a monofilament top and temple-to-temple SmartLace lace front, in a petite cap sized for a head circumference of 51cm–54cm. The wefted back allows air to circulate freely against the scalp, keeping the cap cool and breathable throughout the day.

The monofilament top means the hair in the crown and parting area is individually hand-knotted to a sheer mesh base, creating a scalp-like appearance and allowing the parting to be moved for natural dimension. This is particularly useful in a short style like Tess where the crown is the most visible area of the wig. The SmartLace temple-to-temple lace front extends the full width of the hairline from ear tab to ear tab and sits flat against the forehead with no visible edge - the hairline looks natural whether the fringe is worn across the forehead or swept to the side.

Velvet-lined ear tabs, ultra-thin nape adjusters and stretch material throughout the cap base provide a comfortable, secure fit within the petite cap range of 51cm–54cm. If your head circumference is between 54cm–57cm, Tess is also available in an average cap.

Your questions

When first receiving your wig in the post, it's normal to feel a little
overwhelmed. Wearing a wig maybe something completely new to you,
however, there's no need to worry. At Joseph’s Wigs, we completely
understand your confusion and love to help wig wearers feel at ease with
the whole process, no matter what stage of the journey you're at.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to put on a wig and watch the video demonstration.

Washing a wig plays a key role in wig maintenance
to ensure long-lasting quality and to maintain its initial shine. Using
a wig washing kit, shampoo and condition the wig thoroughly, rinse the
wig with clean water after each step. Then, once cleaned, place the wig
onto a styling head (which you can anchor down using a suction wig clamp
holder) and begin brushing the wig gently from the ends of the hair to
the crown. Finally, leave the wig to dry and it’ll begin to adopt its
natural style again.

For more detailed explanations, read our guides on how to wash your wigs:

How to wash a human hair wig
How to wash a synthetic wig

The price of a wig can range anywhere between £65.00 - £3,000.00,
depending on whether you choose to buy a human hair wig or synthetic
wig. If you're looking for a longer-lasting wig solution, ideal for
medical reasons, then we would suggest investing in a human hair wig for
the most natural and comfortable look possible. However, if you're
looking for a temporary wig to try new styles, for example, then opt for
a synthetic wig that's lower in cost.

Choosing the right wig size for you will depend on your head
circumference. This can be determined by measuring your head for a wig
correctly using a flexible measuring tape. Read our page on how to measure your head for a wig and watch our video demonstration.

Synthetic wigs are made with fibre strands to simulate the natural
appearance of human hair. Although synthetic wigs are man-made, advanced
technology means they're created almost parallel to the quality of real
hair.

Human hair wigs are crafted from harvested human hair
which means the wigs feel, look and move just like a natural head of
hair.
