Samantha wig is a shoulder-length pageboy cut from the Amore collection - a clean, straightforward shape with a side-swept fringe and neat ends that sit well without needing any attention.

  • Hair Type: Synthetic Fibre
  • Cap Construction: Wefts - Double Monofilament Top
  • Colour Shown: Creamy Blonde - Dark Chocolate
  • Cap Size: Average (54cm - 57cm)
  • Weight: 4.2 oz (119 g)
  • Hair Length:
    • from Fringe: 7.0" (17.5 cm)
    • from Crown: 10.0" (25 cm)
    • from Nape: 7.0" (17.5 cm)

Description

The fringe is 7 inches and sweeps naturally across the forehead rather than sitting flat, which most wearers find helps frame the face comfortably. The crown sits at 10 inches and the nape at 7 inches, so it falls properly at the shoulder without being too long or too short for everyday wear. At 119g it has some weight to it, but the double monofilament cap distributes it evenly and most people stop noticing it fairly quickly.

Samantha suits someone who wants a style they can put on and get on with their day. It arrives ready to wear and holds its shape between washes without needing anything done to it. There's no styling required - it comes out of the box and looks the same at the end of the day as it did at the start.

It's been a popular choice with customers going through chemotherapy, those with alopecia, and anyone with a sensitive scalp who needs something comfortable for long periods of wear. The double monofilament top means the parting looks natural rather than obvious - hairs appear to grow from the scalp rather than sitting in a flat line across the top. That's the detail that makes the biggest difference when you're wearing a wig every day and need it to look convincing up close.

Hair Type

Samantha uses synthetic fibre that holds its style through all weathers and washes back to shape as it dries - no resetting or re-styling needed between washes. It's not heat-friendly, so heated tools aren't suitable, but for a wig worn daily where consistency matters more than styling flexibility, that's rarely an issue.

Wig Cap Construction

The cap has a double monofilament top - two layers of mesh with hairs individually hand-tied through both. This gives the parting and crown a natural depth that a single monofilament layer or a standard wefted top can't replicate. For someone wearing a wig every day, particularly where the parting is visible, this makes a noticeable difference to how the wig looks and how confident you feel wearing it.

The sides and back are machine-wefted, which keeps the cap breathable - useful for longer periods of wear. Adjustable velcro tabs at the nape allow the fit to be tightened or loosened by up to half an inch. The average cap fits comfortably between 54cm and 57cm - if you're between sizes, our measuring guide will help before you order.

Your questions

When first receiving your wig in the post, it's normal to feel a little
overwhelmed. Wearing a wig maybe something completely new to you,
however, there's no need to worry. At Joseph’s Wigs, we completely
understand your confusion and love to help wig wearers feel at ease with
the whole process, no matter what stage of the journey you're at.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to put on a wig and watch the video demonstration.

Washing a wig plays a key role in wig maintenance
to ensure long-lasting quality and to maintain its initial shine. Using
a wig washing kit, shampoo and condition the wig thoroughly, rinse the
wig with clean water after each step. Then, once cleaned, place the wig
onto a styling head (which you can anchor down using a suction wig clamp
holder) and begin brushing the wig gently from the ends of the hair to
the crown. Finally, leave the wig to dry and it’ll begin to adopt its
natural style again.

For more detailed explanations, read our guides on how to wash your wigs:

How to wash a human hair wig
How to wash a synthetic wig

The price of a wig can range anywhere between £65.00 - £3,000.00,
depending on whether you choose to buy a human hair wig or synthetic
wig. If you're looking for a longer-lasting wig solution, ideal for
medical reasons, then we would suggest investing in a human hair wig for
the most natural and comfortable look possible. However, if you're
looking for a temporary wig to try new styles, for example, then opt for
a synthetic wig that's lower in cost.

Choosing the right wig size for you will depend on your head
circumference. This can be determined by measuring your head for a wig
correctly using a flexible measuring tape. Read our page on how to measure your head for a wig and watch our video demonstration.

Synthetic wigs are made with fibre strands to simulate the natural
appearance of human hair. Although synthetic wigs are man-made, advanced
technology means they're created almost parallel to the quality of real
hair.

Human hair wigs are crafted from harvested human hair
which means the wigs feel, look and move just like a natural head of
hair.

Human hair wigs are ideal for wig wearers looking to keep their wig for a longer period of time for example if you’re suffering from cancer and undergoing chemotherapy or alopecia. They’re great for wig wearers with a higher budget, looking to achieve the most natural look and wanting to imitate the feeling of biological hair.
